Super Easy Pea Soup for the Slow Cooker Super Easy Pea Soup for the Slow Cooker
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1 package of dry split Peas (1lb)
    1lb Ham wit bone (optional)
    2-3 Carrots
    3 Cloves Garlic
    1/4 onion (more if you like)
    1 32 oz Vegetable Broth (low sodium)
    any other spices or seasonings you like
    Bay leaf, Italian Seasoning, chives, etc.
    Tap Water as needed (about 3-6 cups)

Directions

Night Before:
Dice up ham, carrots, and onion. Keep the ham bone, wrap it and put it in the fridge.
Brown the Ham in a pan, no need to add oil just mix it alot.
Put the cooked ham, raw carrots and onion in a large bowl. Add the Peas and Broth to the bowl, and your other spices/ seasonings. Mix well, cover and place in fridge.
Morning of:
Dump the Ham and pea mix into the slow cooker.
Throw in the ham bone. Add water untill everything is just covered. (most of it will cook off)
Turn on High.
Leave alone for 6-8 hours.
Mix well before you serve to give it that awsome pea soup texture.
Makes about 10 - 1cup servings.
