Ingredients

    1 head, large (about 7" dia) Cabbage, fresh, quartered, cored and cut into 1 inch pieces
    2 tbsp Butter, salted
    2 tbsp Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil
    0.25 tsp Salt
    0.25 tsp Lawry's season salt
    1/8 tsp black Pepper, ground
    1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Yellow Onion, raw, diced
    1 can (10.75 oz) Chicken Broth
    6 drops liquid smoke
    1 Tbsp minced garlic

Tips

You can customize this to suit your tastes and needs. Keeps in refrigerator about 4 days. Great for a quick lunch if you just add some protein.


Directions

Melt butter & oil together in large pot. Add diced onion, spices and onion. Saute on medium until onions are translucent. Add broth. Add cabbage. Return to boil, then simmer on low, stirring occasionally, for 12 -15 minutes.

Serving Size: 24 cups, but reduces by half, therefore 12 x 1 cup serving.
