Introduction

Tastes super yummy on pretty much everything. I made it for stuffed chicken breast because we wanted some kind of sauce, and it has been a hit since! Tastes super yummy on pretty much everything. I made it for stuffed chicken breast because we wanted some kind of sauce, and it has been a hit since!

Ingredients

    1.0 tbsp Butter, unsalted
0.3 serving 1 Med. Green Bell Pepper
    0.3 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    1.0 clove Garlic
0.12 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour
    1.0 cup Milk, 1%
    1.25 cup, shredded Cheddar Cheese
1.0 tsp or 1 packet Yellow Mustard
0.25 tsp Mrs. Dash (R) Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend
    1.0 dash Salt

Directions

Sautee onion, pepper, garlic, seasoning and salt and butter in a medium sauce pot over a medium heat. Once the onions are just about transparent, reduce heat to a medium-low, and add in flour. Mix well. Once completely mixed, continue cooking for approximately one more minute, while stirring. Next whisk in milk, until no clumps are left. Let this cook until it starts to thicken, but make sure to stir it well while it's cooking to prevent sticking or burning. Once it has thickened a bit, add in cheese and stir until smooth. Then add mustard. Stir well, and serve! I personally pour it over top of the chicken breast directly, but it makes a wonderful dipping sauce as well! *note: sometimes I use the seasonings separate, not the Mrs dash mixture, and I've found it tastes basically the same. Not a huge difference in taste if a couple seasons aren't in there. = I've also made this with almond milk and it was delicious that way too!
