Introduction

My go-to white bread recipe My go-to white bread recipe
Number of Servings: 30

Ingredients

    2.5 tbsp Quick-Rise Instant Yeast
    2 cup warm water
    .5 cup Sugar
    1 tbsp Salt
    .5 cup Vegetable Oil
    6 cup Flour, white

Directions

Put warm water in your bowl and add the yeast, sugar, oil and salt.

Add 2 cups of flour and mix until smooth (I use a stand mixer, but you can use a hand mixer or just a spoon or whisk.)

Add remaining flour and mix until a soft but not sticky dough forms, then knead for 6 to 8 minutes by hand or about 4 minutes with a stand mixer and dough hook.

Form a ball with the dough, spray the bowl with oil and return the dough, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place (I use my microwave -- OFF) for one hour or until about doubled in size.

Remove and divide into two loaves. Place into well-greased loaf pans, re-cover and return to allow another 30-minute rise.

Preheat your oven to 375°F and bake in centre of oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding if you tap on the crust.

Remove to a wire rack to cool and cut each loaf into 15 slices

Serving Size: Makes 2 loaves, 15 slices per loaf = 30 servings total
