The only thing used to sweeten this muffin is honey and whatever natural sugars are in the ripe bananas you use. You can adjust the level of chocolatey taste to your own liking, just remember to adjust the amount of honey accordingly (about 1/2 part honey for every 1 part of cocoa). Ingredients

    *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
    *Wheat flour, white, bread, enriched, 1 cup
    Egg, fresh, 2 large
    Baking Powder, 6 tsp
    Banana, fresh, 2 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long)
    Cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened, 6 tbsp
    Honey, .25 cup
    Milk, nonfat, 1 cup

Directions

Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately before folding together gently. Pour batter into 12 standard size muffin cups that have been sprayed with cooking spray.

Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes or until a knifeinserted in the centre comes out clean.

Makes 12 muffins.

    Healthy and delicious, loved this recipe! Thank you for sharing. The muffin has a subtle chocolate flavor (not so chocolatey) with the banana really coming through (I used very ripe bananas- the ones my kids do not eat because they have gone too brown). I added dark chocolate chips for added flavor. - 10/26/13
