Ingredients

    •5 cups flour
    •1 tsp baking powder
    •1 tsp salt
    •3 tsp brown sugar
    •1 lb (2 cups) Crisco shortening
    •1 egg slightly beaten, 1 Tbsp vinegar and enough water to make ¾ cup

Directions

•Combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening.
•To moisten add egg mixture and mix.
•Store in refrigerator or freezer. Bring to room temperature before rolling.

Makes 4 9-inch pie crusts

    I've been making this years, except without the brown sugar.
    For years I had apple trees and made lots of pies. You can get 6 crusts out of this recipe, not 4. The secret is in the mixing. Cut the dry ingredients until you have little balls, add liquid all at once and stir. Don't kneed.
