Introduction

Ingredients

- 125g (0.5 cup) butter or margarine
- 1tbsp golden syrup
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
- 2 tbsp boiling water
- 90g (1 cup) rolled oats
- 185g (1 cup) plain flour
- 250g (1 cup) splenda for baking (or sugar)
Directions
1. Place butter & golden syrup in a small glass dish & melt in microwave.
2. Blend bicarbonate of soda with the boiling water & stir into melted mixture.
3. Combine remaining dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
4. Pour melted mixture into a well in the centre of the dry ingredients & mix to a moist but stiff consistency.
5. Lightly grease biscuit tray & cook in a moderate oven until golden brown.
6. Allow to cool on tray for several minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Makes approximately 24 biscuits. Store in an airtight container.
