Ingredients

1 small sweet potato
3 cups of sifted self rising flour
8 tbsp of shortening
1 tbsp of allspice
1/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup of sugar
Directions
Boil the sweet potato until soft. Let cool completly and peal skin off.
Sift flour into bowl, make a well in center of flour. Add sugar, allspice and shortening in center. Add the milk a little at a time but using your natural tools, (hands) squeeze mix ingredients together, grabbing a little bit of flour as you go. Add milk to keep moist. You may not use all of milk. Roll dough onto floured sheet and cut into biscuits. Place bicuits in a 350 degree preheated oven. Bake for approx. 15-20 mins until golden brown. Makes at least 24 biscuits.
