    1 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped peppers (green or red)
    1 c. celery
1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey or veal
    1 tsp. seasoned salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tbsp. oregano
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
14 1/2 oz. can Italian style tomatoes, chopped
    15 oz. can tomato sauce
2 c. water8 oz. pkg. fettuccini noodles, or desired pasta
8 oz. pkg. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Sauté onion, celery, pepper, garlic and spices in large no-stick pan. Add meat and cook until brown. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and water and simmer for 15 minutes. Spray a 9"x13" pan with Pam and cover bottom of pan with sauce. Spread noodles over it evenly, then add remaining sauce. Top with cheese and bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. One-eighth of this is equal to 3 protein (2 meat, 1 cheese), 1 vegetable, 1 bread exchange. A Weight Watchers member developed this recipe. It freezes well, too.

  • Yes...sounds confusing about whether or nor the noodles or pasta is cooked first or not...I am assuming cooked?
As far as tthe comment about the cheese getting dark after baking X 1 hr....since all food in the casserole is cooked the cooking time would not have to be percise...just enough to blend

  • Bad
Made this the other day. I have been cooking for quite some time and have never thrown out a dish until I made this one. - 12/13/08

  • Very Good
Quite tasty...I either wouldn't bake for an entire hour, or wait before adding the cheese. It was pretty dark by the end of baking time. - 12/7/08
