Introduction

North Carolinians love their Pork BBQ and this slaw is perfect on sandwiches. Very low in fat, and you can substitute Splenda for the sugar to reduce calories even more. Ingredients

    * 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    * 2 teaspoons black pepper
    * 2 tablespoons sugar
    * Salt
    * 2 teaspoons vinegar
    * 1/2 cup ketchup
    * 2 cups cabbage, chopped

Directions

In a small bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients and mix well. The vinegar mixture should have a reddish appearance. Pour the mixture over the cabbage and stir to combine. Chill the slaw in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

    Very Good
    I love slaw and keep trying different ones. Did this to go with slow cooker pulled pork sandwiches; was a great combo. Per recipe it's a lot of black pepper; I like spicy so was OK with it; you may want to start with less and add to taste. Same w/ ketchup; I'll try +vinegar, -Ketchup next time. - 8/2/11

    OMG! I'm from North Carolina (living in Texas now) and that is the best thing about the bbq...the slaw that comes with it!
