Introduction

I don't like hummus from the store. When I make THIS hummus, not only do I love it, but my kids can't wait to get their flat bread triangles into the bowl! I don't like hummus from the store. Ingredients

    1 lg. can chick peas, rinsed and drained
    fresh basil
    1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
    3-4 cloves garlic
    1 tsp. RealSalt (or other form of mineral/rock salt)
    1/4 cup tahini
    juice of 1 lemon

Directions

combine all ingredients in a food processor. Process till smooth. Drizzle extra olive oil while processing if needed, to achieve proper consistency.

Serve with whole wheat pita or flat-breads or naan (oh my!), cut into pieces for dipping
