    1 whole roasting chicken
    1 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp pepper
    1 tsp cayenne pepper
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 small onion, chopped


This recipe is for the crockpot. Combine the chicken and the dry ingredients in a gallon size ziplock bag. Store in fridge overnight. The next morning, dump the entire contents of the bag into the crock pot. Set it to low and go about your business for the day (approx. 8-10 hours on low setting)! Best served with rice, bulgar, or cous cous. The skin will be spicy, and the chicken will fall use caution if you try to extract the entire bird. All of my family (kids included) love this!

    Can't believe how EASY this recipe is (store overnight in a slow cooker liner bag then you just pop in the crockpot the next morning). Love that I don't have to add oil or butter. I've made twice in the past 2 weeks. Used tonight's chicken to make soup. - 1/30/10

    The nutritional facts are absolutely not correct. They calculated it based on the weight of a one pound chicken - EIGHT SERVINGS from a one pound chicken [wouldn't that be a cornish hen?? Good luck dividing THAT into 8!] - 4/27/12
