Ingredients

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup buttermilk
8 tbsp (1 stick) of butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup milk, optional
Directions
1. Combine the first four ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Stir in vegetable oil. Then add buttermilk and stir just until blended.
2. Knead dough on lightly floured surface until smooth. Roll dough into a 15" by 8" rectangle.
3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease 9-in round baking pan.
4. Spread butter over dough. Combine cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Then sprinkle evenly over dough. Starting from one long side (15"), roll dough in to jelly roll fashion. Pinch seam to seal.
5. Cut roll into 1-1/2 inchh slices. Arrange slices cut side up in baking pan.
6. Bake until lightly browned. About 15 - 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Pour milk over top if desired.
Serves 6 (if you cut as indicated and only eat one biscuit, the recipe will serve 10 which drops the calories by 180)
