Introduction
Recipe given to me by one of my best friends. Recipe given to me by one of my best friends.Number of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
Cabbage, 1 Head
Ground Turkey, 1lb
Onion, chopped medium
rice, 1/3 cup Uncle Bens
dash of salt
dash of pepper
butter, 1 tbsp
flour, 1 1/2 tsp
tomato sauce, 1 8oz can
water, 1 cup
sugar, 1 tsp
paprika, 1 tsp
Directions
1. Biol the cabbage for up to 5 minutes so it will be easier to seperate.
2. Once it is boiled gently pull off the leaves, try to make sure they don't rip. You might need to boil them longer if they are too crispy. After you get as much as you can off you can boil the cabbage more to get more layers off.
3. In a bowl combine the ground turkey, onion, and rice.
4. Put the meat mixture in round balls in to the middle of the pulled cabbage leaves.
5. Fold the meat into the cabbage, much like wrapping a burrito.
6. Put the rolled cabbage in a cooking pot safe for the oven.
7. Heat the butter in a sauce pan. Add the flour and stir until it is a light tan color.
8. Add the tomato sauce and water. Continue to stir.
9. Add the sugar and the paprika and bring to a boil.
10. After simmering for a minute add the tomato mixture to the cabbage rolls.
11. Cook at 350^ for 1 hour, more if they are not cooked on the inside.
12. Serve with the sauce poured over the top.
