    1/2 cup Earth Balance or Smart Balance Buttery Spread
    1 medium ripe banana
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 tbsp. molasses
    1 cup applesauce
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp.cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 eggs
    2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
    2 1/2 cups whole oats
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    1/2 cup raisins


In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and banana with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, molasses and applesauce and mix for another 30 seconds. Add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg and blend. Scrape the sides of the bowl occasionally. Beat in eggs until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can, adding one cup at a time. Remove beaters and add oats and stir with a spoon. Add raisins and chocolate chips and mix until just combined. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degreen oven for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
