Ingredients

    1 lb. Flank steak
    3 Tbsp. light soy sauce
    4 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. oregano
1 medium onion, sliced in thin rings
    1/2 Tbsp. of light margarine

Directions

Lightly score both sides of the flank steak and place in large ziploc bag. Place sliced onion rings on either side of the flank steak. Combine soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar and oregano, stirring until well combined. Pour the marinade mixture over the flank steak, making sure to spread it over the entire steak. Allow to marinate for at least 20 minutes and up to 4 hours before cooking.

Remove steak from bag, reserving marinade and onions on the side, and place steak on a broiler pan. Broil on top rack for approximately 5 minutes on first side. Turn over and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes, depending on thickness of the steak. Slice steak in strips against the grain.

Take reserved onions and saute with light margarine until golden brown. For extra flavor, add some of the marinade to the onions after they are browned, stirring frequently until the liquid is absorbed. Serve onions over the flank steak.
