Ingredients

TOPPING:
1/2 cup margarine
2 cupps brown sugar
1 tbsp. water
8 slices pineapple
Marischino cherries
CAKE:
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cups milk(1%)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
1. Preheat ove at 375 F (190C).
2. In a casserole melt 1/2 cup margarine. Add brown sugar and water. Stir at medium heat until sugar is melted.
3. Place pineappples in a14x9x2 pan. Add a cherries in middle of each pineapple, spread melted sugar on top and set aside.
4. In a bowl, cream margarine and white sugar, beat in eggs, add vanilla.
5. In another bowl, mix all dry ingredients, flour baking powder and salt. Alternatly add to wet mixture.
6. Drop with a spoon over pineapples.
7. Cook for about 30 minutes, serve with icecream or cool whip.
*** Pineapples can be replaced by apples, if so do not add cherries.
