Ingredients

    Ground beef, extra lean, 225 grams or 12 oz.
    Onion, 1/2 cup
    Garlic powder, 1.5 tsp or 1 clove garlic, minced
    Pepper, black, 1.5 tsp
    Green Peppers (bell peppers), 0.5 cup, chopped
    Vegetable Juice Cocktail (V8), 3 fl oz )
    Catsup, 150 grams or 1 cup
    Granulated Sugar, 4 tsp or Splenda
    Jalapeno Peppers, 1 pepper (if desired)
    Chili powder, 1 tsp Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce, 1.5 tsp
    Water, tap, 4 fl oz

Directions

Cook extra lean ground beef or ground turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic until brown.

In a 3.5 - 4 quart slow cooker combine vegetable juice, catsup, water, sugar or splenda, jalapeno pepper, pepper, chili powder and worcestershire sauce. Stir in cooked meat mixture.

Cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours, high heat for 3 to 4 hours.

Spoon mixture onto whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted or whole wheat bread slices. Sprinkle with cheese (0ptional).

Makes 4 servings.
