Ingredients

1/4 c. chopped onino
3 large garlic cloves, minced
1/2 c. smart balance buttery spread
3/4 c. flour
4 c. low fat low sodium chicken broth
1 qt fat free milk
1 1/2 cups. freshly-grated parmesan cheese
2 c. water
1 bunch broccoli, tops only, cut into bite-sized pieces
3 c. boneless chicken breasts, cooked and diced
1 1/4 tsp. pepper, black or white
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 dash nutmeg
6 oz. Ronzoni Smart Taste Rotini pasta, cooked according to directions
Directions
Saute onions and garlic in butter in stockpot over medium heat for 2-3 min. Add flour and cook for another 2-3 min or until bubbly, stirring frequently. Gradually add in broth and water; cook, stirring frequently, until thickened.
Meanwhile, in a separate pan, boil broccoli until only partially cooked, but not yet tender. Do not drain water.
Add parmesan cheese to soup-base in stockpot; cook over low heat, stiiring, just until cheese is melted; add cooked broccoli along with its cooking water, chicken, seasoning and cooked pasta. Heat through.
