Ingredients
-
Mixed Salad Green ( I use one bag already torn)
1 cup chopped red apple (usually one medium-sized apple)
1 cup cubed cheddar cheese (usually use one package cut into cubes)
1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
Honey Dressing:
2/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspon lemon juice
1 teasppon grated onions (I used dried onion flakes)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the greens, applie, cheese and walnuts. In a blender or food processor, combine the first eight dressing ingredients. While processing, gradually add the oil in a steady stream. (I just mixed it by hand, adding the oil a little at a time) Serve with salad.
I usually do not mix the greens, cheese, apple and walnuts unless taking it to a large luncheon, just make individual servings so as not to let it get soggy. The dressing will stay good in the refrigerator for a few days(just let it warm up a little and stir really well to mix it up good).
If you hav left over apples, or it is going to be awhile before serving you might want to put some lemon juice on the applies to keep them from turning brown.
