    olive oil
    onion, chopped
    garlic clove, crushed
    almond, slivered
    vegetable broth
    cups water
    brown rice, uncooked
    lentils, uncooked
    curry powder
    black pepper


Heat oil in medium saucepan.
Add onion, garlic, and almonds and cook until onion is tender and almonds lightly browned - about 5 minutes.
Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 40 - 45 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed and the lentils and rice are tender.
Add liquid (either water or broth) as needed.
Remove and let stand for 5 minutes, fluff with a fork.
