Introduction
A satisfying loaf to enjoy with a cup of tea or for a filling breakfast on the go. It's a family recipe, inherited from a Scottish friend of my gran. Ingredients

2.5 cups of whole wheat flour
0.5 cup wheat bran
1 packet baking powder (15.5g)
0.75 cup brown sugar (unpacked)
1.5 cup milk
1 egg
0.75 cup ground hazelnut
0.5 cup whole hazelnuts
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 150C.
Sieve together the flour and baking powder, and stir in the sugar and bran. Lightly whisk the milk and egg and combine with the flour (but don't over-work it). Fold in the hazelnuts and pour in a large loaf tin lined with greaseproof paper. Bake for 1 hour (until a knife blade comes out clean).
Makes 20 slices (around 1cm thick).
