Introduction

This is my favorite homemade French onion soup recipe! It's a great appetizer or start to a light lunch. It's super easy, quick, and hits the spot! I usually use small slices of 9 grain bakery bread. Ingredients

    Soup:

    ~1 medium onion, sliced thin
    ~1 Tbl butter
    ~4 cups beef bullion
    ~1 cup water
    ~1 Tbl Worcestershire sauce
    ~dash of pepper

    Cheese Bread Topping:
    ~4 slices yummy bread
    ~4 Tbl shredded Parmesan cheese

Directions

Simmer onions in butter for 10 minutes over low to medium heat with lid on pot until onions are tannish in color. Add bullion, water, sauce, and pepper. Bring to a boil, and then let simmer for 10-20 minutes.
Toast bread. Place 1 Tbl cheese on top of each slice of bread, then place under broiler for 4-5 minutes or until cheese browns and starts to bubble. Place cheese bread on top of soup and enjoy!
