Introduction

You may use pinto beans, small pink, or other dried beans. You may use pinto beans, small pink, or other dried beans.

Ingredients

    9 cups cooked beans, 3 cups dried
    2 cups tomato sauce
    2 cups water
    1/4 cup molasses
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 tablespoon dry mustard
    1 teaspoon salt
    6 slices thick cut bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    4 cloves of garlic
    garlic powder to taste

Directions

Soak beans overnight.
Drain soaking liquid from beans and place the beans into slow cooker.
You may save the liquid from the beans to use if needed.
Stir in tomato sauce, water, molasses, onion,mustard, salt, bacon, brown sugar and garlic into beans until well mixed.

Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
You may cook on high for a few hours then turn to low.
Makes 12 1 cup servings.
