Ingredients

* Oats, 2 cup
* Maple Syrup, .25 cup
* Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp
* *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
* Salt, .5 tsp
* Egg, fresh, 1 large
* Applesauce, unsweetened,
* Vanilla Extract, 2 tsp
* Almonds, .5 cup, chopped (or other nuts)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease a 9x13" baking pan, orline with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together dry intredients. Make a well in the center, and add liquid ingredients. Mix well. Pat the mixture into the baking pan.
Bake 30-35 minutes, until bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for a few minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Cut to fit snack bags for individual storage, or store in a cooke jar.

PEGOCY
I tried this with 2 c applesauce since it doesn't specify an amount. They are NOT crunchy. How much applesauce have others used? - 1/22/10

Sorry, it was supposed to say 1 cup applesauce... it's kind of a work in progress, so I appreciate the comment! You may need to bake longer to make them crunchier. Sometimes I leave them in the oven after I turn the heat off, which dries them out more. Thanks!
