Ingredients

    1 onion sliced
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
    2 tsp sugar
    1 pound green beans blanched

Directions

Heat oil in a saute pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook for about 15 minutes until carmelized. Add vinegar and sugar and cook for another couple of minutes. Blanch green beans for about 6 minutes in a pot of salted water. Drain green beans and add to onions - toss together and serve. Makes approx. 8 servings

    I'll be trying these for Thanksgiving dinner. I've had carmelized beans before and enjoyed them and this will be taste as well as a healthy and colorful choice. - 11/23/11
