This chili comes from the back of the children's book, "Gid the Kid and the Black Bean Bandits." It's a great book and a great recipe for children. Ingredients

1 lb. extra lean ground beef (browned & drained)
1/2 large onion, chopped
2 teaspoons cumin
1/4 tsp. salt
1 10 oz. can diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
2 15 oz. cans black beans drained, but reserve liquid
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. liquid from beans
Directions
1. Brown meat. Drain and add onion, cumin and salt. Bring to a boil.
2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and sugar. Cook until warm all the way through and onions are tender or translucent.
3. Add beans and liquid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
Don't overcook or beans will become mushy.
Serve with cheese and/or sour cream or plain yogurt.
