Ingredients

    3.5 cups all purpose flour
    1.5 teaspoons salt
    3 teaspoons sugar
    2 teaspoons butter
    1.5 cups water
    1.5 teaspoons instant yeast

Directions

Place the yeast in the hopper and everything else in the bread machine's bowl. Use the basic bread setting and it will be done in 4 hours.

    Reminds me of the bread my grandma always made, while I was growing up - except this was much easier, and quicker. lol... Thanks! Btw, your sodium count is incorrect. Your added it as 1.5 Tbsp when it's supposed to be 1.5 tsp. :) - 4/1/09

    When you say hopper are you talikng the basket in the bread maker? Sorry I know that sounds dumb but hopper?? - 6/22/09

    My bread machine has a little compartment in the lid for the yeast. I've also made this by just dumping the yeast in with the other ingredients before and it worked out fine.

    I make one very similar - substitute canola oil for the butter and add 3Tbs gluten flour, which I find improves the texture.

    My hubbie and grandchildren cannot get enough.
