Ingredients

BHARLI BHENDI 1SERVES 4-6 PEOPLE 500gms.Okra(Bhendi/Bhindi/LadyFinger)
3tbsps.Chick-Pea Flour(Besan)
2tsps.Coriander-Cumin Powder
3tsps.Goda Masala(any)Powder
3tsps.Red Chilli Powder
1.5tsps.Turmeric Powder
1tbsp.shredded Raw Coconut
5tbsps.chopped fresh Coriander(Cilantro)Leaves
1.5tbsp.Sesame Oil(or any preferred)
1tbsp.Lemon Juice
Salt to taste
BHARWAAN BHINDI 2 SERVES 4-6 PEOPLE
5oogms.Okra(Bhendi/Bhindi/LadyFinger)
250gms.Shallots(Red Onions)
100gms ripe Tomatoes
2tsps.Coriander--Cumin Powder
3tsps.Kitchen King Masala(Everest/MDH brand)
3tsps.Red Chilli Powder
1.5tsps.Turmeric Powder
1tsp.Garam Masala Powder(Everest/MDH/Shaan brand)
3.5tbsp.Sesame Oil(any other Oil preferred)
Directions
I use small Okra approximately 3" long for these 2 dishes.
BHARLI BHENDI 1
In a bowl mix well together the Chick-Pea Flour,Salt to taste, Spice(Masala) ,Turmeric, Red Chilli Powders,chopped Coriander(cilantro)Leaves,shredded Raw Coconut,Lemon Juice and Oil to form the Stuffing Mix.Set aside till needed.
IWash the Okra and wipe it absolutely dry.Slit the Okra lengthwise.Stuff with the prepared Mix and lay in lines in a Steamer.Steam for 10 minutes till done.Serve hot with Indian Bread and Dal.
BHARWAAN BHINDI 2
Grind the Tomatoes and Shallots(Red Onions) to a paste.Heat Oil in a non-stick wok and fry the Tomato-Shallot(Red Onion)paste till Oil floats on top.Add Turmeric Powder lower flame and fry for 1minute.Add the Coriander-Cumin,Kitchen King Powders and fry for 2-3 minutes more.Add Salt to taste,Garam Masala and Red Chilli Powders and fry for 1 minute more.Set aside to cool.This is the Stuffing.
Wash the Okra and wipe absolutely dry.Slit lengthwise and stuff with the fried Stuffing.Steam in a Steamer for 15 minutes till cooked.Serve hot with Indian Bread and Dal.
