Ingredients

    2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    3 tbsp cocoa powder
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
2/3 cup plain yogurt (fat free in calculations)
    1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup milk (1% in calculations)
    2/3 cup water
    2 tsp. vegetable oil

Add ins: Dried Cranberries, Pecans, Anything you like -- even more chocolate chips!

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375. Grease an 8x8 or 9x11 baking dish (we only own a 9x11, which yields more servings)

In a large bowl, sift together the flours, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a smaller bowl, beat the eggs. Add the oil, then the rest of the wet ingredients. Beat this mixture into the dry ingredient mixture. Fold in whatever add-ins you like.

Spread into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out MOSTLY clean (a little bit of crumb is desirable).

Makes 16 brownies in an 8x8 pan, or 18 in a 9x11.
