Ingredients

    2 Cups raw carrots, chopped
    1 Cup raw celery, chopped
    1 Cup raw onions, chopped
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 1/4 Cups dried lentils
    1 1/2 Cups water
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    2 chicken bouillon cubes
    1.75 Cups (14 oz.) stewed tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. dried parsley
    1 6-oz. can tomato paste

Directions

Makes 10 to 12 1-cup servings.

Chop carrots, celery and onions; add garlic and saute in a small amount of water until tender in large pot.

Add lentils, water, pepper, chicken flavoring, and stewed tomatoes. Stew until lentils are tender, 20 to 30 minutes.

Add 1 6-oz. can of tomatoes paste, stirring until blended.

Heat to serve.


May add water to thin slightly, if desired.
