Ingredients

    Mix together and set aside:
    1 cup bran flakes
    1 cup boiling water
    Mix together:
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 cup buttermilk
    2 eggs

    Add to the buttermilk mixture and mix well:
    2 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    2 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    Then add to buttermilk mixture and mix well:
    Soaked bran mixture
    3 cup bran flakes

Directions

Pour into lined or well-greased and floured muffin tins.
Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes. Makes 24 muffins.
