Introduction

Adapted slightly from a recipe posted by David Lebovitz, this is a standard in our house. Easy to make, long-keeping and fantastic as a few T over some yogurt, this granola is fantastic and makes a great, healthy homemade gift. Ingredients

    Cinnamon, ground, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Ginger, ground, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Salt, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Olive Oil, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Applesauce, unsweetened, 1 cup (remove)
    Sesame Seeds, 0.75 cup (remove)
    Sunflower Seeds, without salt, 2 cup, hulled (remove)
    Almonds, 3 cup, sliced (remove)
    Honey, 0.75 cup (remove)
    Brown Sugar, 0.50 cup, packed (remove)
    Old Fashioned Quaker Oatmeal- Plain (1/2 cup dry), 10 serving (remove)

Directions

Melt honey w/ brown sugar over low heat, pour in applesauce. Mix dry ingredients. Add wet to dry ingredients, stirring well. Pour mixture into jelly roll pans or large roasters and bake at 300 for about 50 minutes, stirring every 15 min or so. Cool slightly, then pour onto wax paper and allow to cool fully before storing in airtight container. Also great w/ raisins or other dried fruit.
