    *Soy Sauce, .33 cup
    Sesame Oil, 1 tbsp
    *Nakano Seasoned Rice Vinegar, 1 tbsp
    Brown Sugar, .33 cup, packed
    Ginger Root, 3 tsp
    Garlic, 3 tsp
    Pepper, red or cayenne, .5 tsp
    Corn Starch, .125 cup
    Water, tap, .125 cup (8 fl oz)
    *Beef short rib, 42.24 oz


Put all ingredients except cornstrach and water in a slow cooker and cook on high for 6 hours or on low for 9.

Once the ribs are done, remove from crock pot and skim excess fat from the liquid

In a separate bowl, mix corn starch and water and pour mixture into reserved liquid to thicken into sauce.

Serve ribs with sauce over rice

  • My crock pot doesn't have the best lid and I lost some moisture during the cooking process and so it got a little dry. I feel like I would maybe add some pineapple at the end or something with a bit of tang. Otherwise very good and worth trying again. - 4/11/10
