Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

3 20oz. cans pineapple chunks, in 100% juice
2 15oz. cans mandarin oranges, canned in light syrup, drained
3 medium kiwi fruits, sliced into bite-size pieces
    2 large bananas

Directions

Open and drain pineapple, reserve the juice.
In a large bowl (preferably one with a lid if it needs to be transported) combine all of the fruit, except for the bananas.
Stir the fruit, then pour in enough of the reserved pineapple juice to submerge most of the fruit.
Chill for at least 1 hour.
Before serving, slice and stir in the bananas.
Serve with a slotted as well as a regular spoon, so your guests may help themselves to as much of the pineapple juice as they'd like.

We don't like Kiwi so I added Fresh Mango I also used fresh Pineapple as I had a huge one on hand. I added fresh raspberries as we have them growing by our creek so just a handful but added a beautiful hue and fiber. - 7/30/09

I think this sounds fabulous, will try soon. I can't believe that some of these people won't try this because they don't like one fruit! Have they never heard of leaving that one out and substituting another?! I can't wait to try this. Thanks - 7/30/09

Some of my favorite fruits! Just had to add fresh strawberries since they have been so good this season. That gave another color to this beautiful dish and made it even more appetizing. - 7/30/09

I liked this recipe, but put two cans pineapple in and four kiwi's and the pineapples still overpowered the rest. It is a good, quick snack and fruit fix, though. - 1/25/08

As others have suggested, I will probably add some other fruits (frozen blueberries are in the freezer) for color, flavor and texture. It sounds really good as it is, maybe more pineapple than my family enjoys. I'll try it and see. - 7/30/09

Would be so much better if you use fresh fruit since it's summer & it's so plentyful. This would be ok in the winter when fruit is more scarce. - 7/31/09

I've made something similar,by putting different cans of fruit together, than adding fresh fruit to it, such as apple slices. The juice in the fruit keeps the fresh fruit from turning brown. - 7/30/09

Basic and simple but I used fresh cut pineapple instead. I also added some spices. The reason I made it a 3 was because I could healthy it up and improve the taste. Good boilerplate recipe to develop. And I would make it with changes again. Not as is. - 1/8/08
