Introduction

A yummy recipe for quick snack or breakfast bars. A yummy recipe for quick snack or breakfast bars.
Number of Servings: 14

Ingredients

    350 g oatmeal
    85 g flour (plain)
150 g dried fruit. I used 50 grams of prunes, apricots and raisins to calculate the nutrition, but use whatever you like. Apple, figs, dates, pineapple, goji, etc.
3 tbsp agave syrup. If you don't have agave syrup, honey is fine. Just warm it to make it runny.
    1 egg
    175 ml apple juice

Directions

Combine all ingredients and stir to mix. Press the mix into a lightly oiled 18 x 28 cm (7 x 11 inch) baking pan. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius (350 Fahrenheit) for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cut into bars while warm. I got 14 bars out of this.

These are not extremely sweet! Most of the sweet flavour will come from the fruit you put into it. Maybe with honey it would be sweeter, I don't know.

    Bad
Not sweet is an understatement. It was very flat. I tried putting jelly on & topping it with honey. Didn't help. Just so I do not waste the ingredients, I will put it in my yogurt in the morning. It tastes like a recipe that someone forgot to tell all the ingredients. Salt &/or vanilla might help. - 3/24/10
