We have made something like this for years. I always thought it was way more calories. I cooked my beef with a half of medium onion and used fiesta cheese for a kick.
Just tried this recipe for the first time tonight. The kids loved it and want it to be a regular around here. I lightly seasoned both the meat and the tater tots with some lawry's seasoned salt and topped it off with some sour cream. The hamburger was a little dry from cooking in the oven so long.
I made this with turkey meat instead and shredded low fat cheddar instead of the cheddar soup and it was cheesy and amazing! Thanks!
