Nutrition & Calorie Comments

I added mushrooms, celery and carrots to the bottom of the crock pot. I skipped the onion mix and salt. Did dredge in flour and browned on a non stick skillet so no added calories.
Yes, I totally agree -- I used 1/2 the amt. of onion soup to cut down on the sodium. And for sure, layering the veggies on the bottom and then the meat really infuses the flavor throughout.
This is very like my recipe except I do not add onion soup, too much salt, but add more onions, usually 3 cups. I never thought to do it in the crock pot and it works great.
Super easy and tastes great. I too omitted the onion soup mix because of the salt, but it turned out great without it. THIS is a keeper! Thanks!
My whole family loved this. I added italian seasoning and parsley. My 8 year old sister and step father had seconds and my mom asked for the recipe
So tender and delicious. I used low-sodium tomatoes and omitted the soup mix. It was delicious and so much healthier without all of the added salt.
I used Pam to cook my steaks. No additional fat, but additional calories because of the flour. Thanks for a great recipe.
This recipe was very good except I did not add any extra salt (onion soup mix is salty), also I used the Italian Stewed Tomatoes, also added minced garlic to taste. I will definitely make again.
right on! i made this tonight except im using a little worchester sauce in the mix, braised the cubesteaks, a little balsamic vinegar, and a tablespoon of sugar, and as advised only a half a pack of the onion soup mix. Also, im using a covered roasting pan in the oven.
I actually make almost the same exact recipe, but use half the Onion Soup mix to reduce sodium. A good crockpot tip, place onions (and also root veggies as a rule) on bottom of crockpot to get more of their flavor throughout the dish!
I am making this tonight, using buffalo cubed steak. I know it will add some extra calories, but I prefer buffalo over beef, and I know this will be good. Thanks for sharing!!
Made this over the weekend. Had to leave out the onion, but it was still very good. I had forgotten to potatoes. So I fixed a few biscuits. I will make this again!Watch how much salt you use, I used too much.
This recipe seems easy enough. Hardly any calories and most likely very tasty as well. Another recipe to add to my cookbook.
