Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    2 Cups of water
1 Cup of dried Navy beans
2 oz. cured ham or Country ham slices, I usually cut one in half to get the 2 oz. I need.
    1/2 cup chopped onion.

And just before i eat them I will put just a bit of Catsup in them and maybe a tad more raw onion for flavor.

Directions

Be sure to soak your beans over night first. They will cook a bit faster if you need them to. I usually just wash mine check for bad ones, and put all of it together in crockpot and let it cook.

Makes 4 - 1 Cup Servings.

My husband will not eat them and I have loved them since I was a child, so I make them in a very small crock. Up your ingredients if you need to feed more. Goes well with salad or grilled cheese for the kids.

Quick and Easy! I add a carrot, finely chopped for some color. When I'm in a hurry I'll use canned beans.
Just be careful when picking out the ham you'll use... I've found that some of the ham in the smaller packs are LOADED with salt. Freeze small portions from a holiday meal for this soup!

upon finding your recipe i hurried to tell my husband and we both are looking forward to having it for dinner. Since my country ham was in a block part we are going to put in with the beans and pan fry a slice or two and combine with coleslaw. So i wanted to say thank you. - 8/11/10
