These were great! I did bake them for 35 minutes and probably could've gone 5-10 minutes more. I serve them with a side of bbq sauce and it was very yummy! I mixed up the oil and seasonings in a big ziploc bag and threw the cut up potatoes in there, closed it, and shook it up. Easy way to coat them! - 12/29/08

I've made these many times now, and each time it's still ridiculously good. Everyone loves them. I leave out the salt and double the chili powder. Cut them thin and make sure they're not touching on the pan to get them crispy around the edges (still softer than regular fries, but oh so good). - 7/1/09

I make thin rounds and "fry" them on my stove top griddle or in the George Foreman thing. I use cooking spray and season with a mix of ground Chipotle pepper and a little salt. Yum! - 7/2/08

I made these as a side dish for my Christmas luncheon and they were amazing! I put them on the bottom at 350 for 25 min (only because I had a brisket cooking on top) then moved them to the top rack at 450 for another ten min. They were pretty crispy and didn't burn at all! Thanks for the recipe! - 12/26/08

We liked these fries. They do take about double the time listed to get even a little crispy, though so take that into account when you're making them. - 6/30/08

I make sweet potatoes like this cut into rounds instead of fries. Usually I just use garlic and chili powder but I might have to try it with cumin next time. I never really liked sweet potatoes until I tried them this way. - 2/24/09

I haven't tried this yet, but it certainly looks/sounds delicious. I just have a general complaint.

You've taken the time to share this recipe, and you get comments like "I liked it, but I switched this for that."

I've seen this on many other shared recipes. Leave the originals!!!

An awesome recipe! I definitely improvised on the seasoning, added some garlic, omitted the onion powder and chili powder, but added tobasco sauce. I cut the potato so there was some skin on every piece and that helped with the crunch. - 1/9/09

Add 1-2T of Paprika for added color and flavor, and 1T garlic powder. My kids love these! I used to get the Alexa frozen sweet potato oven fries, which my kids loved, but they tell me that these are even better. I'm surprised at how easy these are, too. Adding to the make-frequently list! - 5/18/14

I toss the potato strips with the herbs, eliminate the salt and after spreading them out on a cookie sheet, spray lightly with olive oil Pam. Don't need as much oil that way. Bake until they begin to crisp. Really good. - 1/12/13

I use a Pyrex or brown cookware dish, and so don't need any more oil than to coat the slices - so minimal
I'm also not huge on anything spicy, so I tend to use garlic powder, paprika, and various dried herbs.

For crispier fries make sure you've pre-heated the oven fully before putting the potatoes in. Also, spray the tops of the potatoes lightly with cooking spray. This seemed to work better for me. :) - 6/15/12
