This recipe was great! It is not overly complicated in flavor. Sometimes simple is better! The peanut oil made all the difference in taste. Thanks for the great recipe! - 8/30/09

Delicious! I have always been a great fan of Fried Green Tomatoes, this is a good recipe. However, I sprinkled some parmasean cheese on top just before done cooking, and I eat mine between two slices of butter bread. - 10/15/07

I cooked mine in canola oil. Otherwise, recipe is the same. I wash and slice the tomatoes. Dip in egg and flour, then lay them individually on a cookie sheet lined in wax or parchment paper and freeze for about an hour or longer. Take them out and put in a zip-lock freezer bag. Cook as usual.

    O.K.
Why use peanut oil?!? Choose a more nutritious oil, like col pressed olive oil or grapeseed oil. I almost never use any other oil for cooking - 1/10/16

very simple and easy to make....will make it again. Interesting variation on the way we usually make it, using corn meal...also used canola oil instead of peanut oil. - 6/15/10
