I wonder how this would tasted with some fresh spinach rolled into it. I can't wait to try it out! - 5/9/11

I've made this before with refrigerated crescent roll dough. The whole wheat bread dough sounds much healthier.

Try sprinkling some dried cranberries on top of the sausage for an unexpected sweet/tart taste!

My mom was been making this ever since I was kid, but she also adds some diced onion and minced garlic and then cooks it as one whole loaf and cuts it after baking, its one of my favorites! - 2/1/12

I used this recipe as a base, only I put some ground chicken, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and basil. Wonderful!! Very portable. I was able to take the rolls on a plane with me. I'll definitely use the technique again. - 5/13/11

I wonder if these will freeze well, I plan on trying them tonight and I try to keep my freezer stocked with individual servings so I know the calories I am eating. Especially when in a hurry during the mornings. - 2/24/11

When you cut these, you don't want to slice them the same as a cinnamon roll. You are going to slice a few inches at a time and leave them upright with the openings to the sides. Thus a biscut that is square. I hope this helps. - 2/24/12

I used the "low sodium wheat bread (for machine)" recipe as the dough, and added some chopped onion while cooking the pork recipe. I also ended up using twice the pork with fresh juiced apple. YUMMY! - 2/24/12

This was very easy to make. The bread dough I used sort of un-folded, which made it much easier than trying to roll out dough. It was tough to cut 16 slices (they are QUITE thin), so I ended up cutting bigger pieces. I will just have 1 instead of 2. Thanks for the great breakfast idea! - 4/22/11

HOLY COW, THESE ARE GOOD! I couldn't find the frozen wheat bread dough, so I used a Pillsbury Artisan Multigrain Pizza Dough, and it was super easy and delicious. I made 8 rolls so that each roll was one serving. They're very portable, and packed full of flavor. Definite keeper! - 4/15/14

Good! I used turkey bacon 1/4 c. and 3 slices of Rose Canandian Bacon, 1 c. mushrooms, 2 green onion, 1/4 c. chopped spinach and rolled it up. I sauted the veggies and meat with Pam butter spray first. These will be great to grab on the go in the mornings! - 4/20/13

The picture is not of something rolled. You will want to spread to 10 X 14 at least to get it thin enough. - 3/3/12

Looks yummy. Also doesn't look like bread dough. Looks like phyllo or puff pastry ... I wonder how that would alter the nutrition info?

Unfortunately, so many of these delicious-looking recipes are unavailable to me - two of these rolls "eat up" half my whole day's allowance for carbs. Alas.

I really wouldn't put both sausage AND cheese in the same pastry roll.
Sausage - and add herbs, apple puree....
Cheese - and onion, relish, chutney....
Why on earth waste 2 proteins on 1 small bite?
Though I do understand that nowadays parmesan is being deemed a seasoning rather than a cheese.
