This is wonderful! Watermelon is high in potassium which helps to relieve water retention. I freeze watermelon chunks spread out on a cookie sheet; let rest on counter just enough to loosen them, then put in bags in the freezer. In the afternoon when I´m busy, my smoothie is quick and refreshing! - 3/15/07

I will try this one again. The watermelon I used was not a very sweet one and I think that changed the taste of the smoothie - 4/28/07

It's good, but I think the ginger was too strong. I think next time, I will use 1/4 or 1/8 tsp ginger. Also, I added about 1/2 cup water for smoother blending, added a banana, and omitted the sugar.I tasted it before adding the banana, & the banana helped cut the ginger flavor a little but not much. - 5/24/13

This is so delicious! I recently discovered yellow watermelon and used that instead of red. I also added a bit of water to help the blending process and about a tablespoon of honey.Photo here: http://dancingspatulawand.blogspot.com/201

Indeed very refreshing and filling as well. works well when my body is craving for sugar. I have tried Watermelon, diced red papaya, fresh blood orange juice with a tspn of honey instead of the sugar.

I tried making with my kids after freezing our watermelon as suggest. Not enough liquid in this recipe to blend properly. Kids were disappointed at first & didn't want to wait for the watermelon to soften so we added water a little at a time to get the blender moving. YUMMY! - 7/21/10

I dont know what happened but i thought that this was really discusting, i couldnt even drink it. it sounds really good in the recipe. i think it would taste better without the plain yougurt, and maybe try some frozen vanilla yougurt or something. - 7/7/07

I made this with Blue Bell Cherry Vanilla light ice cream, because I didn't have any yogurt. I didn't add any sugar because of the ice cream, and this is incredible! YUM-O! - 7/5/07

I love this! The ginger and almond make this something special. I subbed vanilla lowfat yogurt for the plain yogurt and sugar. This makes two, in my opinion rather skimpy, servings or one generous serving. - 3/20/07
