I bet it will sound and taste more delicious if you cook your own tilapia. - 1/4/13

I just cook fresh tilapia, break it up and season it with Chef Meg's Taco Seasoning--serve it up with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, chopped onion and a little sharp cheddar. I use corn tortillas. - 3/24/13

I make mine with chopped shallots or small amt chopped red onion mixed with mangoes avocado and a lime juice for a healthy addition. Also sub cabbage for lettuce for extra crunch - 3/24/13

I've made this before, but used fresh fish and left out the cheese and opted for a few black beans instead. - 3/24/13

I appreciate that Gorton is an advertiser, but could you also give alternatives using fresh ingredients? Thank you.

I don't do fresh fish, so this appeals to me. I will try it with the vinegar-based slaw, though. I see the guacamole in the photo. 8-) Bet that would be even more delish! - 4/10/13

I'd grill tilapia brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with lemon pepper.
In my area, vinegar-based cole slaw plus cilantro is added instead of the greens in the recipe. Oh, and hot sauce (Texas, dontcha know)

I thought this would be really interesting, and something I'd want to try.Yet again, unfortunately, ingredients (this time, the main ingredient) are pre-made and - I don't know where they might be bought other than America.
OK - I can use the recipe as an idea, again.
