Salt and Pepper to taste (no need for more MC spices)
Return to broiler another 5 minutes or until juices run clear

Variation: instead of smothering in gravy, after the chicken is cooked, put between two lightly buttered pieces of bread, add the onion and cheese and grill on both sides like a grilled cheese sandwich.... mmmmmmmm

We browned the chicken breasts in the skillet as ladyravenrose suggested and used cheddar cheese and aged cheddar cheese with the onions and mushrooms--no gravy! And it was heavenly!!! Even my 5 sons, ages 10-16, all liked it very much! Thanks Billiardboyzmom!!! - 2/24/09

This was a great recipe! I wasn't quite sure how the gravy woul dbe on it but it was perfect. I also made mashed cauliflower (like mashed potatoes) and a small salad. It was very filling! - 4/9/09

I made this in my electric skillet and it turned out yummy. I used the juices from cooking the chicken (with enough water added to make 1 cup as required for the gravy mix)I also eliminated the onion (allergies) and served it with steamed cauliflower and carrots. - 1/31/10

AMAZING! My husband and I didn't want it to be over! Definitely, less is more with the McCormic Grill Mates: Montreal Chicken seasoning though. I made that mistake...but won't the next time I make it! - 7/23/08
