Great mac and cheese! There's nothing processed here. I ate a serving and a half for dinner; 450 calories for a meal isn't too bad. I served it with a nice salad. Tried a second time with some chopped onion, basil, and oregano mixed in-amazing! Also good with mushrooms, spinach, and onion salt. - 5/14/08

I made this recipe but I always chop onions and boil with the noodles. It gives an extra flavor, but you can't taste the onions once they are cooked and mixed in with the cheese. - 1/21/09

This was very good. My family did not like the crackers on time, so next time it will be without the crackers. Still a very good dish. Thanks. - 12/1/08

I love this and have made it several times now. I added some cut up chicken for a little protein. Also, I definitely recommend the baking option. I covered it in bread crumbs and a little italian spice, and it was great! - 10/12/08

Im a bit confused here, how is 450 calories, and almost 16 grams of fat for 1/2 Cup of this healthy? its four servings and only 2 cups of noodles...so its not much more than 1/2 cup. - 9/24/14

I'd never done it before, but I used Almond milk and it worked wonderfully!! Since I was the only one eating it, I cut the amount in half with no problem. So easy!! - 7/10/13

I am making this tonight and cutting it in half, there are just me and my hubby....I am finally learning to slash our recipes inhalf , daughters are grown and away from home, but I found myself still cooking for 4....that meant over eating, too many leftovers and lots of wasted food. This is so simp - 10/10/12

    O.K.
Maybe I did something wrong, but I did not enjoy this. It had very little flavor and there was too much sauce for the noodle amount. I even added onions when I boiled the noodles and some oregano and chili powder to the mixture. I think it's the skim milk and the amount of milk that does it. - 6/13/11

This recipe was really good. I almost made a different mac and cheese out of a Pillsbury cookbook, but this recipe is almost exactly the same but with half the milk, cheese, flour, and butter. And it's still delicious! - 5/26/11

I made this with leftover cheese from party trays. It tastes fabulous but I'm not sure it's very healthy (lots of sodium and carbs). So it only gets 3 stars from me. I can't eat this but I'll serve it at our next get together. I also put extra shredded cheese and crushed cheese crackers on top. - 9/3/10

This was terrific! My toddler even ate it. She only loves Kraft. I made it with barrilla plus pasta and whole wheat flour. The whole wheat flour gave it a different taste. But I liked it. I will make this recipe again. I like having an alternative to making Kraft all the time. - 5/4/10

I just tried it and it was soooo yummy! I was surprised at how thick the cheese sauce was. Good for sticking to the noodles. I had made cottage roll last night so I add some leftover pieces in. Pork, cheese and noodles. Man oh man! Oh and I put whole wheat bread crumbs on top instead. Thank you!! - 1/15/10

I even baked this according to directions and it was a bit saucy. I very much enjoyed the taste of this dish, but my family apparently prefers homemade mac and cheese that you have to cut bites off..if that make any sense. - 12/19/09

Not worth the trouble we went through to make it (had trouble with the sauce) Had to add multiple things to make this edible. Won't be making it again. - 8/13/09

Used whole wheat flour, monty jack chz (doubled the amount), added 2-1/2c broccoli, and baked as directed. It was ok. If I make again I will use cheddar cheese and double all the cheese sauce measurements except the flour. - 8/13/09

A great way to get less calories for this recipe would be to use a butter substitute and add reduced fat cheddar cheese. I haven't made this yet but love mac and cheese and will definitely try this. - 2/26/08
