I don't understand why all the fuss about 16 calories of sugar. If you're diabetic, then of course use sugar substitutes but if not, I think I can "splurge" on 16 calories. So I'll do 5 extra minutes of walking. Somethings are just worht it!! LOL - 3/3/10

I can see the club (bicarbonate) soda and ice helping heartburn or reflux but citrus juice is one of the first things you're told NOT to eat with reflux. Can you substitute apple or another non-citrus fruit? - 9/14/08

This sounds tasty. I agree if you get sweet oranges you may not need the sugar. I'd probably omit it anyway, just because I like the taste of my fruit to come through. And I don't think a little sugar will hurt you now and then, just not lots all the time. - 8/19/08

I make it with pomegranate juice - love diluting that as the carbs and calories in that are very high - though I left out the sugar (but then I like things without sugar). Pink grapefruit juice is also a winner in this mix - my aunt was a bartender and pink gf juice and seltzer rock. - 3/28/10

This is the best drink I have had in many moons. So refreshing, and guilt free drink. The Club Soda only has 15mg of sodium per 1 cup, plus 1 tsp of sugar, is a small price to pay for such an great drink. I added lots of ice, which willl go towards my 8 glasses of water. Will also try with vodka. - 7/11/10
