Introduction

Adapted from a recipe seen on 101 Cookbooks, this is a spectacular, powerful boost to your morning whether you serve it warm or chill it down for a midday "pudding". Any berries can be used, I prefer strawberries or blueberries, or a mix! I used a sprinkle of dried ginger cause I didn't have fresh on hand. I thought this was very good and easy to make, and a nice change of pace for breakfast. - 11/9/08

Hmmm. This sounds very good, but I think the calorie count is off? 1 svg of quinoa is 1/4 cup (dry) @ 172 cal & 2.8 g fat. The berries & honey will add some to the calorie count, but not 180! I think you're selling the nutrition info short on this one-I'm going to have to try it & see! :) - 1/11/10

Where does the 4.9 g fat come in? - 3/8/09

It's naturally present in the quinoa

Good, but there was too much ginger for my tastes. I'll definitely try it again, though! - 7/7/08

Love this, but next time I'm going to add a lot less ginger and cinnamon. It was way too much for this. Also, when I added my food to the tracker, and ommited the honey, I came up with 216 calories, not 352.2 that this nutrition info gives. Not sure where all those calories are coming from??? - 1/13/15

It was very tasty, but I, too, think the nutritional information is wrong. I am wondering if it is for two servings instead of one. Anyway, I will definitely make this again, perhaps adding nuts or yogurt. - 5/29/14

I cook my Oatmeal in the Micro. Has anyone tried cooking Quinoa in the microwave? - 8/17/11

    O.K.
Something is definitely missing from this recipe - this makes a dry quinoa with berries. Needs something to "cream" it up. Liked the yogurt idea, maybe some 2% milk, or almond milk. Please recheck your recipe - maybe this is why the calorie count was off. - 1/20/11

I didn't have a good morning with quinoa, and i've cooked it plenty. But the 2nd time around I was paying more attention to the stove. Accidentally made 1/2 cup dry quinoa, and proportionally all still was good. I added about 1/3 cup of Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt before drizzling honey - YUMMM! - 10/7/10

I thought this was very good. It was my first time having Quinoa so I think I will like it even better as I have it more. I agree with CECE0330 that the calorie count is off. I put the ingredients into my nutrition tracker separately and only came up with 216 calories. Someone please fix! :o) - 8/26/10
