Ingredients

Beef chuck, arm pot roast, 3 lb
*Potato, raw, 6 large (3" to 4-1/4" dia.)
Carrots, raw, 2 cup, chopped
Mushrooms, fresh, 2 cup, pieces or slices
Beef broth, bouillon, consomme, 1 cup
Lipton Onion Soup Mix (Dry Mix)
Onions, raw, 2 small
Directions
Quarter potatoes
Slice Onions
Heat water and add boullion, when disolved add onion soup mix
Put half of the vegetables on the bottom of the slow cooker, brown beef and put on top of vegetables, add remaining vegetables and pour beef broth/soup mix over top.
Cook for 8-9 hours on low heat
Serving size 3 oz. beef & 3/4C Vegetables

This recipe didn't turn out for me at all. I followed the recipe exactly but after 10 hours on low the vegetables were still hard and the beef was tough. I ended up throwing it all into a roaster and roasting it at 350 for another hour just to soften everything up. Tasted fine then. - 1/27/09

You might check your crockpot. That has happened to me before and after about 3 failed pot roasts I borrowed someone elses crockpot and tried it and it worked fine...my crockpot went straight into the trash.
