I use this recipe, too, but I only use 1.5 Tblsp Tahini, I leave out the olive oil to decrease the fat even more and I've been using the chickpea juice from the can...but I might try it with water instead. - 10/15/08

I have always used this recipe, and it is really great. If this is not a regular hummus ... what is? When my fiancée was in the Saudi Arabia, this is how they made it. Is the difference less olive oil? - 3/18/10

It is wonderful! I added about 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. Think I will add salsa or olives or ginger or roasted red pepper as others have suggested. - 8/4/09

Really good. Tastes a lot like the hummus I order at our local Greek restaurant. If you're not a garlic lover, you'll want to cut back a bit on the cloves. But perfect for me! Thanks. - 5/30/10

Great combo! I reduce the lemon juice to 2 T and add 1/2 tsp of cumin. Sometimes I will add 1 tsp of soy sauce rather than the salt. The tahini is a must! don't skip it. - 12/21/09

The dip tastes OK, but nothing like hummus. I followed the instructions exactly and was really displeased with the results. Maybe if I didn't go into it expecting hummus it would be better. I'd rather "splurge" on regular hummus and fit it into my cals for the day This left a weird taste in my mouth - 5/17/09

It was very easy and quick to make. I felt it was a bit too lemon tasting, so next time I'll cut back on the amount of lemon juice I use. Thanks for the recipe. I love that it's so much more low cal than store bought hummus. - 5/8/09

I was pleasantly surprised. This recipe is so simple that I didn't expect much. Used bean broth in lieu of water and about half the lemon juice called for. Used too much garlic but still good. Ate with Tostitos corn chips. Very nice. - 7/19/12

Made the recipe as printed, then took half of it and added some jarred roasted red peppers. Now I have 2 different kinds to share at work. For those that think the lemon is to strong, just use less. This recipe doesn't call for cumin like many hummus recipes do. If you like it, add it. - 1/11/11

the tahini makes it very bitter and almost dirt like flavor. I tried it again with out the olive oil and with out the tahini, and added half of an avacado. The avacado and no tahini, much better - 11/17/10

I think this is a great recipe, I made it, had to use lime b/c no lemon - interesting, but I like lime. I really appreciate a specific serving size, instead of just the over 'serves...8 or whatever. It helps me most when planning and tracking. Thank you! - 7/19/10

This is a great recipe. But I've discovered, that there is really more like 8, not 19, servings in one batch. I go with the standard 2 TBSP.

Also, a little too much garlic. I usually use one, huge, clove or two tiny cloves.
